Emergency relief for family of 6 affected by the Tasman floods
Nelson / Tasman
Elle and Adrien and their 4 children live in Dovedale which was flooded last week due to the heavy rain in the Tasman region. Their section was fully submerged and face a massive clean up with thick mud, silt and debris everywhere, water damage to the house and animal shelters and gardens need to be rebuilt. They also lost multiple appliances and personal belongings.
They are a super lovely family who find it difficult to ask for help, so I am setting this page up to relieve them of some of their immediate costs as they require heavy machinery for the cleanup. They have been told it will possibly take up to a month before an insurance assessor will get out to them, and most likely won't cover everything they have lost. They are currently on one income so finding things extremely difficult at present. With more rain forecast it is a very distressing time for them.
Elle and Adrien would give the shirts off their back for anyone, so please consider helping them out – any donation is very much appreciated!

Thank you! 14 July 2025
Thank you all very much for your generous donations for Elle, Adrien and family! Your donations have been a massive help, especially as they were unfortunately flooded again last Friday 11/7/25, and much worse this second time around. They can no longer live at their property with the amount of water damage to the house, and it will most likely be yellow stickered. If you live locally and know them personally please consider reaching out to offer support and help during these devastating times. They have boxed up all their belongings that weren't damaged to put into storage and are currently searching for a rental property to move into. They worked so hard renovating that house and section to make it their families perfect happy place, and to have 2 floods destroy it over 2 weeks is just heartbreaking.
