$90 of $1,545 goal

Please help us raise funds for urgent repairs to Emergency Department building at Kailakuri Health Care Project, which leaks when it rains!

Auckland

We are a primary health care project in Bangladesh that provides treatment to the poor. Established by NZ doctor Edric Baker in 1983, we serve over 48,000 patients a year. We rely on generous donations to sustain this work. From time to time our buildings need urgent repairs but it can be difficult to fund these from our existing budget.

About us

Located 160km north of Dhaka, in an isolated rural area, the Kailakuri Health Care Project is a grass-roots primary health care project founded on the principles of the late Dr Edric Baker, a New Zealand born medical practitioner who dedicated more than four decades to providing essential health care to the very poor.

Use of funds

All funds raised will be used to repair the Emergency Department at Kailakuri Health Care Project. It is a mud-brick house and the walls are in good condition, but it needs a new tin roof and verandah. Including wood, brick, cement, sand, tin and labour costs, we need $1545 NZD to complete repairs. In the meantime it is unusable because the wood has weakened and it is too vulnerable to storms.
