Emil is fighting for his life, his wife and their little girl who will call him “Dad” this July.
Auckland
We are sharing the story of Emil - a devoted husband, a soon to be father, and a man whose life has been defined by incredible resilience. After starting a new career this past February, he was ready to build a bright future for his family, but life recently took an unexpected turn with a diagnosis of Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer.
The timing of this diagnosis has created a difficult path for Emil & my sister Jess. Jess is just weeks away from starting her maternity leave as they prepare to welcome their first child in July. What should be a season of joy is now filled with chemotherapy and the weight of the unknown.
Known for his trademark positivity and signature smile, Emil’s first instinct is to protect his family. He is determined to keep working through treatment to provide for his newborn, but true recovery requires rest, something that is hard to do when balancing a new job and a new baby. We want to make sure he and Jess can actually enjoy those first few months of parenthood without the stress of finances and rushing back to work too soon.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and right now, it takes a village to support a dad-to-be too! Our goal is to create a "breathing room fund" so they can focus on baby cuddles and recovery.
Whether you donate, share or offer prayers, your support means the world. Let’s help Emil beat this so he can focus on his greatest chapter yet.

travel, parking, unfunded prescriptions, and everyday living costs while Emil’s ability to work is reduced during treatment. Helping him to rest and recover without financial stress & allowing Jess to stay home with their daughter during those vital first months.
