A page to help Emily's family with continued awareness and development of the Emily B Drifter Project.
Canterbury
Emily Branje aged 9 yrs, was tragically swept out to sea in Sept 2019 at Hokitika River Mouth. Following her death, her family used "give a little money " (https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/emily-branjes-family-support) to support the development of the Emily B Drifter Projectin conjunction with Kotuku Surf Life Saving Club on the west Coast.
It is hoped this ground breaking technology within NZ will help all communities save lives. This is a page set up to continue to help Emilys family with costs associated with the continued development of the drifter project, where it is aimed at saving lives, and to enable more to be learnt and understood about NZs forever evolving currents, under currents within the surf and our rivers.
You never think the unthinkable will happen, but it can, and it did sadly for Emily and her family.
Continued development of the Emily B Drifter System. Money will be used to make and purchase additional equipment as part of the development and testing process. This will allow more drifters to be used in testing in scenario.
