Emma's chance at independence with a medical detection dog
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
From when I first hit puberty, to how old I am now, my health has rapidly deteriorated causing my life to change in vast ways. Every day I live with seizures, chronic migraines, and chronic pain.
I am now 21 years old and I want independence, I want to be able to move out, I want to study and have a job.
K9 search medical detection from, Cheltenham, has met with me and is willing to take me on as a client. They have given me the opportunity to get one of their medical detection/disability assistance dogs.
I'll have been matched with a suitable dog and then the individualised training will commence. The dog will go through training to notice triggers for my medical conditions.
The K9 search medical detection dogs are fully certified for public access under DIA laws.

The money goes to the K9 Search Medical Detection Organization as they train the dog and match the dog to me. They also have to personalise the dog training to suit my needs and integrate the dog into my home.
