We can not thank everyone enough for their support to help Emma and her family
I am so proud of the 3 of us to have completed this challenge to help us raise funds for Emma and her family. Coming in to the finish line was quite the emotional journey and I am so happy to have done this for such a special friend.
I'm so pleased we did it!
At the end, emotional thinking of Emma and really hoping everyone supports our journey by putting their hands in their pockets. I'm so proud of the 3 of us. All for Emma with so much love and support. I would do it again and anything to help recovery.
It's fair to say that yesterday was definitely a wet one, but the team pulled it out of the bag and together we completed the 1/2 marathon. Look out for the interview with us on why we have done this on the Project tonight at 7pm.
Stepping it up from 5km to 10km has been harder than I thought! Western Springs 10km 3 weeks ago was a shock to the system particularly for the 1st few days afterwards!
Henderson Park was a little easier but you know you know when you should have trained more, but at least it hasn’t hurt as much and I’ve got a bit faster, although I still dislike hills particularly when they last 1km.
I first met Emma in Mangawhai through Tania, gosh must have been 11 years ago. We have spent many afternoons on Tania’s deck enjoying wine, dancing and solving world problems. Many years of causing mayhem at food wine festivals and laughing our heads off. Our bucket list trip to Melbourne Cup was amazing and such a great time. Emma taught to me order every damn dish on the menu and then stuff yourself silly during that trip. Emma is one of the most beautiful people I know. Her heart is huge and she shines inside and out. Looking forward to laughing again my gorgeous soon our gorgeous girl
Emma has been one of my closest friends since I arrived in NZ as a single mum of 3 young children 18 years ago. Emma and her family adopted me and my children helped us heal and introduced me to what NZ life could be like. I will always love her for this. Emma is one of the most caring person you could ever meet and now it is our turn to hold her and her family up while she needs us to, so that she can heal as best she can.
I am one of Emma’s closest friends from before she was married. I can say that I love her so much and she is one of the most loyal, generous, kind , loving, caring and beautiful people I have known in my life. Right now she is the most resilient, vivacious amazing human beings I know and she deserves the world to treat her kindly and with as much respect as can possibly be offered to such an amazing person. Please give if you can, the family needs so much love while they are having such a rough ride on this journey called life.
Well it's fair to say that Sundays 5Km Walk around Saunders Reserve was not dry! We found smiles from the company that we had but the rain was decidedly icy cold in the face when it came down and it was fair to say that there was quite the amount of mud on the track, but we did it. :)
Keep up the good work!
Sunday last week was an early start for some of us to get over to Ambury park for our first event but we smashed it! ok maybe not smashed it but we got through it in 43 mins. Hopefully the next event we will be able to get a bit quicker. :)
3 weeks until the next one so need to keep up that training.
