Emma's Village is made up of all her friends and family that she has blessed with her fun loving and caring personality along the way. Emma is one of those people who is always help someone in need with her love and support you just know you can survive anything with her on your side. Now it is our turn to help her and hold her up.
Emma, is a loving wife and mum of 3 amazing kids. At the mere age of 45, she first contracted Covid and then suffered a major stroke. She now needs to regain her mobility on one side of her body and also her speech. This means that she will be unable to work for the foreseeable future and has a lot of physio and speech therapy to do which is going to be like doing F45 on steroids! Her village of friends thought that they would try to hang up their wine glasses, lace up their trainers and work just as hard as she is by running/walking each of the Run Auckland events over the next 6 months (6 events) gaining kms and hopefully sponsorship as we go through the months, until we reach the Auckland 1/2 marathon at the end of October.
Our goal is to ensure that her whanau is supported financially during Emma's recuperation time so that the only thing that her and her husband have to worry about is Emma getting better.
Emma has been an amazing friend who has supported me when I have experienced difficult times over the last 19 years, and she celebrated with me as my chief bridesmaid at my wedding.
The money will be spent on ensuring that Emma's medical bills will be covered along with ensuring that her family do not go through any financial hardship during this difficult time while Emma is unable to work.
