To bring deaf puppy Emmett into his forever home in Germany we need your support.
Auckland
My boyfriend Olli and I were in New Zealand for 3 month of traveling the whole country, both islands.
We expected a lot of experiences and to learn a lot - but we didn't expected to fall in love.
In the very South, in Gore, we were at a big farm where they have some working dogs. There we met deaf Emmett, a big New Zealand huntaway puppy. It was love at first sight! He was just 6 month old but already huge with big paws and happy about everything and everyone. A gentle and clumsy giant, always touchy and gratefull of any attention. The most time he had to stay in a dirty little kennel, not allowed to go out every day, and underfet.
Then the farmer told us something about a "broken tool", because the young dog was that for him. Emmett is deaf and so he is "useless" for the farmer.
Actually being deaf isn't such a bad thing, deaf dogs are able to have a good and happy life like any other hearing dog.
But farmlife is tough and so the farmer decided to put him down.
What an awfull thought.. We couldn't allow it, because he is such a lovely puppy! So we had to prevent it. We took him with us to the North. The farmer was okay with it - he said in that case he can safe a bullet..
It was just the right thing to do.
With the help of the animal sanctuary near Warkworth we found an awesome fosterhome. For now he has got a safe place to be and to learn how it is to be a puppy - with plenty of space for running and playing and to be loved.
Because we are so much involved with Emmetts story now and know his beautifull nature, we would love to give him now his forever home in Germany. We decided to take him with us. We have got the room and time to take care of him - and plenty of space in our hearts.
So we checked our travel-budget and changed some plans to safe money for a pet transportation company who can bring him in his new home.
But unfortunately the costs will be much bigger than expected at first.
Beside of the vaccinations, chipping, spay AND airport customs in Germany
the transportation itself will cost 4.800 NZD.
That's a huge number for us but we try everything to be able to pay that.
So we are honest with you:
Emmett and we need your help.
Please support us so Emmett can start his new life in Germany. Every dollar would help.
We also would like to thank the Animal Sanctuary (www.animalsanctuary.co.nz) and all their followers. They all gave us so much hope and support!!
Because of that we will give them a part of the donation as well. A small donation for sure and then everything that amounts the transportation costs of 4.800 NZD.
So even if the goal for Emmett is reached, you can be sure every dollar will help amazing and rescued animals to start their way into a new and safe life.
Thank you so far for your attention and please spread Emmetts story - so he has a chance to start his new life in his forever home ♡
We would love to give him his forever home, but are from Germany.
The donations will be spend on the costs of the pet transportation company. Veronica Griffins who is receiving the funds on our behalf is my friend, she and her fiance introduced us first to the farmer where Emmett is from and also to the Animal Sanctuary when we were desperate searching for a foster home.
If so, any surplus will be given to the Animal Sanctuary.
