Shannon was diagnosed at 17 with Stage 4 Endometriosis.
After 2 laprosocopies and 2 failed IVF treatments, she had to go in for her 3rd laprosocopy to remove the endometriosis. The surgery in perth Australia where she was living at the time resulted in complications that the surgeon ignored which resulted with her going into Severe Septic Shock.
Shannon underwent emergency surgery and had laparotomy abdominal surgery. From this she had 90% organ failure and was given a 24% chance of survival.
After months of recovery and moving back to NZ she is now fighting a legal battle with the hospital over in Australia which is proving costly she has also had to get loans to pay for medical bills in Australia, exercise rehab as her health insurance didn't cover it all after the last surgery and counseling.
Shannon has used all her sick and annual leave entitlement and is now having to take unpaid leave anytime she ends up in hospital from on going issues.
Shannon is in discussions with NZ specialists to have a full hysterectomy and to remove a cyst which has been growing and causing her emmence discomfort.
Shannon has made a pledge that all money raised to help her keep on fighting her battle will then be re-donated to the research into a cure for Endometriosis when she wins her battle against the hospital in Australia which could take up to 3 years.

Intially money will be used to pay for Australian medical bills, then her continued legal fees, then basic human living cost when she is unable to work
