Tayla’s Second Endo Surgery
Maupuia, Wellington
Kia Ora Friends,
I’m Tayla and I’ve been living with endometriosis since I was 15 years old. I had my first laparoscopic surgery when I was 21. I only had six months of relief from my endo symptoms before they all came back. Now at 26, I am still struggling with endo. I have been booked in again for my second laparoscopic surgery, in the next one/two weeks.
Living with endo has been one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever had to face. My symptoms have decreased my quality of life because I am in some sort of pain every day. I suffer from heavy and painful periods, extreme cramps, fatigue, pain during/after sex, painful urination and bowel movements. My endo flares are a level of pain, I cannot comprehend. I often have to take multiple days off work due to my pain.
In August 2024, I had the WORST endo flare I have ever experienced. I spent three-quarters of the month heavily bleeding. I was sent for an urgent ultrasound and the results showed that my uterus had been turned and twisted out of space, my left ovary was sitting above my uterus, and my right ovary had been fused to the side of my uterus. Hearing this news, was devastating, heartbreaking and extremely scary, and I knew at some point, I would have to have another surgery.
I would love and appreciate it if you could please share my story and/or donate towards my second surgery. I am genuinely hoping that this will be my last, and hopefully will be life-changing!
I want my life back, to be a normal 26-year-old.
My main goal is to raise enough funds to contribute towards paying for my second laparoscopic surgery. The amount raised will all contribute towards the cost of my surgery - regardless of when I actually have the surgery.
Thank you so so much! Cannot express my gratitude!!xx
