This page is a little ray of hope for those of us blessed with hands on skills, and struggle academically.

Hi New Zealand.
My name is Gordon, I am 53, and have worked as a Engineer for 35 years.
After my wife passed away 3 1/2 years ago, and several ensuing disasters after, I am resurrecting my old workshop equipment.
2 years ago I had a motorcycle accident leaving my right arm badly and permanently impaired, but not to be deterred by lifes hurdles, I am putting together a small workshop again to train youngsters essential engineering skills that would see them have everyyhing necessary to pass and enter BMETS ( Basic Mechanical Engineering Trade Skills ) and Apprenticeships with confidence for on going training.
I need lots of help, in many ways to achieve this, and not just monetarily if off cuts of materials, particularly round bar for lathe, and flat bars for mig, tig, Arc, and gas cutting.
I also would love to hear from supporters, with advice and ideas, a those contributing, sponsoring and donating to keep in contact through our facebook page.
Gordons Way Motor Shed,
It is hoped to achieve a higher degree of experience, by building projects and auctioning completed projects, that we can become self sufficient for times.
It gives a real hands on experience, with the amazing joy of actually seeing ones efforts become a living vibrant machine, to which they may stand proud.
Applied Mathematics, Geometry, Physics and Science are all integral parts of engineering, and I did myself, struggled many years of schooling unable to grasp numbers on blackboards and books.
But to be able to see, touch and feel these subjects, would help youth not only in self esteem and confidence, but in everyday life.
A reason to hold ones head high and know in confidence, that theres a future ahead.
