Please support Erena Calder Hawkins in representing New Zealand at the World Junior Badminton Championships in Peru this November.
Waikato
Erena Calder Hawkins is a passionate and dedicated Badminton player. She has played representative Badminton for 6 years and she is dedicated to working hard to be successful in her sport. Erena has been selected in the 2015 Under 19 Junior New Zealand Badminton Team who will travel to Lima, Peru to compete in the Junior World Championships 4-15 of November 2015. Badminton is a minority sport in New Zealand and does not receive a lot of government funding. Badminton New Zealand supports their players massively however there is still a large cost for her to travel to Peru to compete. Any contribution to Erena's campaign will be a huge help to getting her to World Juniors and achieving her dream to compete on the international stage. Erena's dream goal is to represent New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games and we know competing at the World Junior Badminton Championships is a stepping stone to achieving this goal.
My daughter Erena has played sport since a very young age and we have supported her through her journey to find the sport that she is passionate for. Badminton is a part of the family and we love going down to the stadium to support her. Erena is very dedicated and a hard worker and we are proud of all her successes. We support her on her endeavours in badminton and look forward to seeing what she can achieve in the future.
