Help out the Insull's with the cleanup and rebuild of their Esk Valley home
Napier, Hawke's Bay
Our good friend Dave Insull and his gorgeous family (wife Hannah and three kids under 7 Mack, Joe, and Samuel) were directly affected by the Esk Valley flooding this week. They had to escape their house for higher ground at 3am on Tuesday morning with the floodwaters waste high and rising fast. Although they're still cut off and not contactable, we do know they got out in time - they're safe and being well supported by the community (and knowing the Insull's they'll be helping everyone else too).
Their house and property that they've worked tirelessly on over the last 4 years were not so lucky however. We understand they have insurance, but it's not going to cover nearly all the damage. The clean up, rebuilding and replanting is going to be monumental, and they won't be back in there for months (if at all). Those who know Daveo and Hannah know that they would be the first to help out anyone in need, so we'd like to do the same for them. Please give generously, and I'm sure once their back online they'll be thrilled to know we've got their backs.
Old mates :)

Thanks from the Insull's and an update on where things are at 23 February 2023
To all our supporters, friends and whanau.
Thanks for the amazing response and contributions following the flooding last Tuesday.
We have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and energy.
Our plan from here is to keep the three boys happy and settled at Granny and Papas house in Taupo until a return to Eskdale makes sense.
We are working through the insurance claims steadily and are quietly relieved at how the process is going so far.
We were very lucky to have the support of dozens of our mates in Eskdale arrive on Sunday and clean out the entire flood affected areas of our home, guesthouse and garages. This job would have taken us months...our artwork and precious photos were salvaged...our cat was fed, our driveways cleared using heavy machinery, food and drinks provided etc etc. The community remains galvanised and this seems true for all affected areas. There are Sliver Linings!
Much love from the Insulls!
