Our school has a number of students for whom English is their second language. Some are new migrants. When they begin they are placed with

Nationwide

We are raising funds to purchased software for the computer that supports the learning of new English Language Learners focusing on early reading skills. Individualised programmes can be set up within the programme and teachers can access feedback of student’s learning patterns, skills accomplished and skills requiring further work. Access to this programme would support students with their literacy learning.

About us

Miramar Central School is widely recognised as a ‘Magnet School’ because of the unique opportunities it provides for all children; respecting and empathising with their individual and special needs, cultural backgrounds and the aspirations of their parents and caregivers.

The school is situated in the heart of the Miramar Peninsula in Wellington’s Eastern Suburbs.
