Eugenie's Glioblastoma Journey

    Dear Family and Friends,

    You haven't heard from us for a few months as we were in the midst of Eugenie's treatment. Eugenie was able to complete 9 two week cycles. The last cycle was 2 weeks ago. Eugenie did not bounce back from that last treatment as she had done so previously. She has started showing symptoms of tumour progression once more. We visited with Oncologist today and it has been decided that Eugenie will stop the treatment. What does that mean? Well, all arrows have now been spent. All treatment options have been exhausted and we are now in the hands of the palliative service. We are so thankful for all the care and treatment Eugenie has had in the public and private services. To be honest it's a tough day for us as a family. The children have taken in their stride. Understandably, they're sad and that is okay. We're carrying on as we've started, taking each day as it comes. We are so grateful for the support we've had lavished upon us. Please continue to pray for our family, especially for peace in this time. All good wishes and thoughts are always welcome too.

  • Treatment is working!

    Dear Supporters,

    Two months ago Eugenie had her first treatment. There were a lot of unknowns and risks associated with taking this drug. Eugenie has undertaken 5 rounds of this treatment. The funds generously donated totaling $20,960.00 has been exhausted. Each two weekly treatment costs $5,000.00. We need to fund 6 more treatments for Eugenie to maximise the benefit of the drug. Eugenie had an MRI recently and the drug is working! The swelling has reduced considerably and Eugenie is able to reduce her other medications that have undesirable side effects.

  • First treatment successful!

    Thank you generous people. Eugenie had her first treatment and it went well. We'll continue fortnightly for next 12 weeks. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

      Dear supporters

      We had Eugenie's recent MRI reviewed today and the drug is working! The swelling has all but gone and the tumour has not increased in size! We will continue with the drug. Thank you for your support.
