Evacuate My Parents from Gaza

  • Reopening the Page: We’re Nearly at 70%

      4 September 2024

    Kia ora everyone,

The page was briefly closed for a few days, but we’ve decided to reopen it so we can keep pushing towards our goal. We’ve raised almost 70% of our target so far, and that’s all thanks to your incredible support!

We’ve been able to renew Riad and Aisha's passports, and their New Zealand Visas will be submitted very soon. With your help, we even managed to get them registered on the Rafah crossing lists. Unfortunately, the crossing was taken over and closed before they could make it out.

We're now just waiting for Rafah crossing to reopen—Riad and Aisha will be among the first to leave Gaza once it does.

We truly appreciate all the support so far. Please continue to spread the word.

Let's keep the momentum going until we reach our target and get our whānau out of this misery.

    Ngā mihi nui,

    Maher & Tessa

Thank you once again for your dedication and generosity.

  • Permit Cost Reduction

      5 March 2024

    Kia ora,

As mentioned in one of our previous updates, the permit cost for Rafah Crossing has dropped. We have promptly adjusted our fundraising goal to align with the updated price of the permit.

Your continued support is brining us closer to our goal. Thank you!

  • Thank you!

      11 February 2024

We've been overwhelmed with your support so far, and just want to say a big thanks to everyone who has helped by donating and sharing the page. Your shares have been a huge boost, so please continue to spread the word as much as you can.

The situation in the south of Gaza has worsened in recent days, with news of an imminent invasion on Rafah. We are terribly worried for our family, who are among the 1.5 million people sheltering there. We'll be sure to let you know any updates we get from our family when we're able to contact them.

Some good news: the cost for a permit to cross through Rafah Crossing fluctuates, but we've heard it may have gone down within the past couple of weeks. Hopefully, the developing situation won't cause prices to go back up.

We're looking into this, and if the price remains lower than it was at the start of the fundraiser, we will decrease the fundraising goal.

Thanks again for your kindness, everyone. We aren't able to express just how much this means to us. Arohanui, and look out for more updates soon. ❤️
