EVO: Re-imagining education for the digital generation

If we want to make a real difference for our children, and for the world we live in, it's all about literacy: the ability to use language to change lives for the better.

EVO uses short-form video to inspire a life-long interest in reading, writing and the appreciation of literature – a format our young people love and have grown up with. Recorded as live performances, school students will experience inspiring Aotearoa NZ poetry, prose and speech.

We have teamed up with UNESCO* Dunedin City of Literature and UNESCO Wellington City of Film to jointly sponsor five young southern writers on a visit to our capital in 2023, where talented young Wellington filmmakers will record excerpts of their work.

We will gift these videos to the teachers and learners of New Zealand, and add lesson resources to support the content.

If we can raise $18,000 from your generous donations, the UNESCO cities have kindly agreed to match this with their own $18,000 contribution. Any additional funds raised above this target will help add further videos and lesson materials to the EVO website.
