Ongoing stroke therapy funds needed for baby Jye!

Jye’s 2 in September, He’s had a significant MCA stroke on the left side of his brain which is the cause for his presentation of right-sided hemiparesis and his constant clench fist and stiff arm. Jye is now walking, he falls down a bit but what an amazing little boy he’s becoming and that’s big thanks to the therapy and donations so that we can seek the extra therapy. We are still only at the start of our journey but it is evident it will be a long one, the gap will grow as he gets older with his peers. We are always actively seeking extra treatment, therapy gadgets, and correct orthotic shoes for him to make the best recovery he can.

As his parent and a new graduate nurse, I have advocated for him early, been that squeaky wheel in the system, and am hoping that early intervention along with neuroplasticity of a baby's brain will see Jyes brain rebuild and rewire so he can have the best chance at a somewhat normal life with the hurdles that will arise for him in the future. We have had minimal support from the system thus far as it is so stretched and have decided to go private for extra therapy, this comes at a cost which is travel to Hamilton on a monthly basis, accommodation, and therapy alone is $750 for a 5-day block this will be ongoing through out his childhood and most likely into his teen years.
