F163 - 10 year survey

$160 of $20,000 goal
Given by 3 generous donors in 2 years

Help keep F163 going so we can give back to the community with the experience of steam travel.

Manawatu / Whanganui

F163 was built in 1880 one of the oldest steam engines running in New Zealand.

As part of the operational fleet at feilding steam we use it for events to give back to the community like the following Candle light express, Rail Safety week, Open weekend, school and group visits.

We want to keep the locomotive running but need to do some important work on the old engine as she is showing her age.

About us

Feilding and District Steam Rail Society was formed with the intention of restoring heritage locomotives & carriages to provide rides and the joy of steam back to the community

Use of funds

To keep the locomotive operational we need some more funds for new steel for the water tank as it has corroded, inspections on the boiler and repairs if needed.

I can’t thank you enough at Feilding. I opened the McDonalds Restaurant on the 26th of September 1996 and Feilding didn’t have the train society then. I’m living in Rarotonga and so enjoy your updates. Thank you so much for what you all do for preservation of our Rail History Kia Kaha
