FAL's citizens; you need to protect your rights.

Licensed firearm owners and dealers are continually attacked by the Police, News Media, the Police Association (union), & the Government, to name but a few. In our opinion, the recently released Law and Order review on firearms and security, and the Police Policy on MSSA's will apply further restrictions to law abiding legitimate firearm owners and in no way effect criminal use. As usual, there is no mention of campaigning for more severe penalties for criminally firearm-related offences. Dig deep or lose even more of your rights.

Our club has 120 + members and every member, along with every other licensed firearm owner, will be effected by further restrictions and also financially if the latest L&O review recommendations are passed into law.

Then we have the latest Police Policy on MSSA's.

One of the recommendations is that Parliament "codify" (define) what constitutes a "fit and proper person". All New Zealanders are Fit and Proper Persons until such time as they demonstrate otherwise. "Codifying" this is going to be fraught. One of the current Police guidelines used to determine that you are not a Fit and Proper Person is "a personal or social relationship with people deemed to be unsuitable to be given access to firearms". This is a circular definition. If you socialise with people who are not Fit and Proper, then you are not Fit and Proper, and therefore people who socialise with you are not Fit and Proper, ad infinitum.
