We want to make a (seriously cool) short film. We're asking for your help.
Auckland
Hi everyone, Loren (director) and Holly (producer) here. After years of blood sweat and tears working towards our Bachelor of Communication Studies majoring in Film and Television Production at AUT, we are finally on the home stretch.
For our very last project before we graduate, we are required to make a six-minute short film. Not content with just doing what we need to pass though, we are also setting our sights on entering as many film festivals as we possibly can.
Our film, titled False Awakening, tells the story of Selene - a young woman whose only relief from her incredibly mundane life is in her vivid, larger-than-life dreams. When Selene's new flatmate Emma moves in, the stark contrast between them and the resulting tension manifests in a dark side to Selene's dreams, which she begins to struggle to seperate from reality. As she gradually becomes more confused and disturbed, the audience is left wondering for themselves - what really happened?
Fingers crossed, that sounds like something you'd be interested in watching... because we need your help to get our film, our baby, across the finish line. There are a whole heap of costs involved with making a short film, even on a student budget, and that's why we're putting out our hands and asking whether you could help us in any way. If so, we would be so grateful if you'd donate what you can through this page.
Finally, even if you can't help us financially, we'd love your support in any other way you can think of, so don't hesitate to get in touch - falseawakeningfilm@gmail.com. A couple of things we are looking for other than money include catering, fuel vouchers, and for you to share this Givealittle page and our story with your networks - pretty please :) also, head on over to the Updates tab up the top for more info!
We plan to spend your generously donated $$$ on catering, fuel vouchers, make-up artist, props and costumes, registration for film festivals. Any amount that goes unused will be donated to Youthline.
