Helping friends who lost everything in a fire.
Auckland
I am supporting my friend’s sister Danelle Diggeden, whose home in Bloemfontein, South Africa, was destroyed in a fire on Sunday evening.
Unfortunately, nothing could be salvaged as the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
There were 9 people residing in the house:
• Danelle, Jimmy (Father), Adri (Mother), and two young girls aged 13 and 7 at the front of the house.
• At the back of the house, there is Japie (diagnosed with cancer), his wife Hanna, their daughter Lulu, and her daughter.
They faced challenges exiting the house due to burglar bars, resulting in burns on their bodies and smoke inhalation. One of the girls are autistic and they are keeping her under sedation for now.
The Bloemfontein community has provided clothing, but they require a safe place to stay, food, medication, and toiletries.
If you can offer any assistance, please do so. My friend, Tess is doing her best to support her sister and the family, but she cannot do it on her own.
Any contributions, whether big or small, can make a significant difference in helping the Diggeden family rebuild their lives.
** Financial contributions can help the family secure temporary housing and cover essential expenses. You can donate through local community organizations or directly to the family’s relief fund.
Photos available on request.
She has been my friend and colleague since 2019. She has the biggest heart and always help others, but its time she needs help.
Food, clothing, medicine, toiletries - any day to day needs.
