LOCAL FAMILY LIVING IN CONTAINER !! How does this happen in 2020 in NZ ??
BE KIND says our PM. Who can imagine living in an uninsulated container ?? Please consider our good fortune and what we could spare..

A few years ago, the husband and father of two teenage boys, became too ill to carry on working full time and defaulted on their house mortgage !! They quickly sold up to prevent the bank selling it for a pittance and managed to purchase a caravan and a container to house their family.
Working in seasonal jobs did not provide a constant income to keep their cars functional and legal, buy gas to provide electricity and feed the family. They have also given food to other people in need and fed some young friends in need of a dinner here and there !! They have large containers for their water (great when it rains, but a constant challenge in the summer).
It would be heartening for those of us who are comfortably living in our homes with a regular income to give a little hope of accruing sufficient funds for perhaps a deposit for a house in the future. Fortunately, they have a block of land - one positive. They are proud people and this was not their idea.

The boys worked for us so learnt of predicament. Lockdown very little support, two teenage boys, xtra boys sometimes but they shared +little work. Husband's health not great, so mortgage defaulted a few yrs back now living in a container + caravan !!
Use of funds
Enough $s for timber or a house deposit that a building company might be inspired to take on. All the family members are constantly looking for jobs and already have secured some part-time work, so they might need some financial support in between jobs.
