Family of four lose home for the second time in three years, this time to Cyclone Alfred. Please help them rebuild.
Northland
We set up a Givealittle page to support our dear friends, Nicol & Rochelle, and their two beautiful young girls aged 7 and 3. Tragically, for the second time in three years, their home has been flooded due to relentless torrential rains, caused by Cyclone Alfred.
Not only have they lost their possessions once again, but the situation is even worse this time.
They purchased their property in 2020 and completed a full reno with plans to raise. In Feb 2022 a once in 100 year flood brought 1000mm of rain and their house went under water above knee height. They rebuilt, drew plans, worked with council and contractors for the house raise and building had started and was going to be raised next month.
They had full house and contents insurance including flood cover until 3 weeks ago when their insurers cancelled the policy unexpectedly with building works commenced. They tried for new insurance but were denied with building commenced.
Nicol and Rochelle are incredible people who rarely ask for help. They work hard to provide for their family. They moved from Whangarei NZ to Brisbane in 2020 and had a tough time getting through the last flood impacts. I’m deeply concerned that the physical, financial and emotional toll of losing their home for the second time will be overwhelming.
Any support you can offer would mean the world to this hardworking mum, dad, and their two young girls. Thank you so much for your kind generosity.
Rochelle is one of my greatest friends, we grew up together in Whangarei, Northland, and we did our OE together and lived together.
