Helping get this family back on their feet.
Tasman
Yesterday Rebecca and Robert and their seven children lost their house and all of their possessions when their house at Lake Rotorua, Nelson Lakes National Park was destroyed in a fire. The house was insured but not the contents. Robert lost all his tools ( is a builder as well as a pastor) which will be helpful for rebuilding their home and they also lost all their musical instruments, which are very important to them too. And their car and caravan. They recently moved to this tiny rural community and are working on a local farm. They want to stay in this community and work to rebuild what they've lost.
My husband was in one of the volunteer firecrews attending the fire yesterday, and I'm a member of our local Saint Arnaud Rural Womens group, who fundraise for and support community needs
The family have nothing other than what they had with them at work. They will need clothes, furniture, bedding, and general household stuff plus home-school supplies as Rebecca teaches them.(They are in a remote rural area).
Thanks! 6 February 2022
A big THANK YOU to all of you who've donated to help help out the Ifopo family after their devastating house fire. Every donation, large and small, will help them rebuild their home and they are very grateful for your generosity. Also a huge thankyou to others who've donated, food, clothing, appliances , a car (and parts to repair it!) as well as all of the other bits and pieces needed to help this family. In this troubled times it's been very humbling to see people reaching out to help.
