Mindy & Campbell, wanted me to tell Sadie's story. On Tuesday 27th Sadie Maddison was born.

It was a major journey from then. Sadie's rare chromosome disorder... "Cats Eye Syndrome" None of the Dr's & staff working on Sadie at Starship had seen a child with this disorder.

This disorder can have a range of defects, some very minor and if unlucky some quite major Sadie wasn't so lucky. She had some very major heart defects, plus was born with no anus. Both requiring urgent operations.

Due to her heart any procedure or operation was dangerous, even the MRI was high risk as her oxygen had to be taken off.

The first operation was for the Stoma, this is for her a colostomy bag. This was day 4 of her life. She survived this and hope returned.

Day 6 was the major heart reconstruction called the Norwood procedure, plus some other procures, I no-longer know.

From the time she was taken away till we could see her again was a very long 12 hrs . She survived, As we knew the first 24hrs were critical, but the signs were looking hopeful, Sadie was stable and starting to slightly improve.

However at 9.50pm on Day 7 Her heart gave up the fight.

There are further Photos in the Gallery, but be warned they are not pretty. But they are a record of Sadie's Journey
