Felix McDonald-2015 Commonwealth Youth Games

I have been selected to represent NZ at the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa this September.

It is a great honour to be one of only 5 Track and Field athletes to be travelling to Samoa, and comes after a good season in which I won two national Youth titles for the in the 110m hurdles, and the long jump. I also competed in the Australian Junior Champs in the 400m hurdles where I finished 4th in just my fourth time over that distance.

My goals for Samoa are to improve my personal best performances and hopefully that should be good enough to make the finals,

I am training most days, with my Coach's Megan Gibbons and Joan Merrilees preparing to peak for September, which is not so much fun with the sub zero temperatures lately.

Unfortunately the event is self funded, so we need to cover all of our costs including travel, accommodation uniforms etc. so any assistance that to meet these costs would be greatly appreciated.
