Fight against Kultar's Employer

Kultar Singh was offered a job at $16.5 an hour for 35 hours a week. During the course of his employment, he regularly worked 12-13 hours on all 7 days of the week without any holidays, public holidays or leave. He was paid for 35 hours but was allowed to retain only $800 of the wages paid to him per month.

After about 16 months, Kultar was first suspended and then dismissed by his employer. We believe he was unfairly dismissed. He was not paid any holiday pay, public holiday pay, pay for the last 46 days of his job or minimum wages during the course of his employment.

The employer needs to be brought to justice and Kultar faces an uphill battle to regain his lost wages and fight any charges that the employer is bringing against him. We encourage the entire New Zealand community to contribute to this cause so that employers like his know that they have no place in a country like New Zealand.
