Fight For Keanu

Meet my beautiful nephew Keanu - Jay who was born 7 days ago 8th of August 2021. He was born with omphalocele which was repaired and healed perfectly but was later diagnosed with a severe rare condition Type 4 Laryngeal Cleft.

He was transferred from Christchurch Womens hospital to Auckland Starship hospital on the 11th of August in hope that they could operate but since further scans they've had a round the table conversation and come up with a diagnosis that it's unsurvivable (which we don't believe is true) and that they can't help him as it's out of their profession. They have told us to get him comfortable and to prepare for a funeral as there is nothing they can do.

In my opinion they have given up without giving him a fighting chance.

With a lot of research and calling out to doctors around the world they have told us that there is help available. We have also seen stories of it being repairable. And so many reccomendations of doctors out of New Zealand who have more experience in this field.

But because the doctors here can't personally help him themselves as its so severe they have said that death is basically the only option.

We've had to push for him to get IV nutrients so he is getting feed in some way.

He's breathing on his own and his stats are good, he's doing really well. We are going to try keep him as strong as possible whilst we keep fighting to raise money in hope to save his life.

We are here to be his voice, fight this with him and to make sure he gets a fair chance at life. So in saying this we have created this give a little page to help gather some money in hope to fly him overseas or to get him any sort of help he needs.

To help with travel, doctors, treatment, and everything else needed to just keep my nephew alive. And also to just support my sister, brother in law and Keanu Jays 5 other siblings.

We are hoping to get a second opinion on weither they can help our baby Keanu. We will keep everyone updated as we go.

This has been extremely hard for his parents and his siblings. They're not giving up and are going to fight as much as they can for him. I can see how badly its effected them all and my heart breaks for them. Any help I can get to help them would truly mean the world. Thank you all for taking the time to read.
