Please help me and my son Page fight our toughest battle yet. We look forward to paying this forward.
Auckland
My son Page and I have fought many battles in life and by the Grace of God we both are still here. I have been raising Page by myself (with help from whanau & friends) since he was 3 weeks old. His mother was diagnosed with a mental illness after he was born and is still in the mental health system. Being his sole Caregiver I was on a single parent benefit, after the rent came out we were left with $40 a fortnight to survive on. He grew up suffering From Epilepsy having seizures since he was a little child. None of that matters and pales in comparison as we’re now faced with our toughest fight yet! My son Page (only 29 years young) had a stroke two weeks ago, by the time we got to the hospital his blood pressure was 280 and he was fighting for his life. He was placed into an induced coma and 72 hours later was showing little response, doctors told me he may not make it and the possibility of recovery is bleak and at best he will be paralyzed on the right side and in a coma. However, due to the fighter that my son is, Page has been making great progress over the past 10 days! He’s still not able to speak though and there is a long road to recovery ahead so we are humbly asking for any financial help we can get. I would be forever grateful for any help I can get. We will pay this forward once he’s well and hopefully inspire others in similar situations to keep fighting. Thanks in advance ! Ngā Mihi.
