Our beautiful, kind, courageous, mandy b is fighting against stage IV colon cancer,

Canterbury

Amanda's story:

Beginning of her journey.

A young mum aged 32, is now facing the hardest journey of her life, and has been diagnosed with Bowell cancer. Amanda has had surgery to remove the tumor and lost 50% of her bowel, she is now awaiting her results to see what the future journey ahead looks like, what stage the cancer is and if it has spread. Amanda will be starting the process of long rounds of Chemotherapy and other treatments that will be needed . The type of Cancer Amanda has been diagnosed with is genetic Adenocarcinoma Transverse colon, and very rare for her young age. The chances are very high the cancer will return. Amanda is supported by her loving Husband and soul mate, and her two beautiful children aged 5 & 10.

We are raising funds for this wonderful family and the fight they are battling to win against. They have dropped down to one wage now as Amanda begins this tough journey, and have recently brought their family home. we would like to help towards the cost of, treatment that may not be fully funded, helping towards the costs of petrol, food, and things they kids will need during this time, to take some of the financial pressure of them, so they can solely focus on getting Amanda back on the road to recovery.

Update of Mandy B  28 October 2016

Hello all supporters of Mandy B’s fight for life.

After weekly appointments at the hospital, further testing and scans, It has been confirmed Mandy B has stage 4B cancer. The cancer had travelled further than expected and had spread thru her large intestine into her small intestine and into the stomach lining.

Unfortunately it has also spread to her lymph nodes, in which lymph nodes act as a taxi service to other parts of the body, this has resulted into secondary mastitis cancer of the lung. Mandy B will be starting chemotherapy next week.

Mandy B will be on chemotherapy for a minimum of 6 months, Mandy is going to tackle this head on, and will be wearing her courageous shoes, and will not give up the fight and will prove the doctors wrong with the time left she has been given.

we will all walk right next to her in the next chapter of her journey

Please keep Mandy, Jon and her beautiful kids in your thoughts& prayers during this difficult time.

Update on Mandy B  06 January 2017

Hello again all fellow supporters.

We thought we would give you another update on Mandy B's journey.

On the 13th of December Mandy went to her doctor with lower abdominal pain, this resulted in Mandy being referred to the hospital.

A CT scan showed that a 10cm tumor had grown on her left ovary whilst on chemo.

Mandy case went to the board and it was decided that Mandy will need surgery to remove the mass, as this was causing her pain. The doctors are shocked how fast and aggressive her cancer is.

While Mandy was in surgery they successfully removed the tumor which had grown to 15cm and also removed her right ovary due to it producing to another tumor.

The recent CT scan also showed the cancer has spread to her spleen and more cancer is showing in her stomach.

With the recent news of the ovarian cancer, Mandy stopped the chemo treatment she was on, now Mandy is at home recovering from her recent surgery untill she has healed.

The next chapter in Mandy's journey is to have both chemo pills and infusion at the same time, she is due to start this in February.

although with the recent step back, Mandy is still positive and is very courageous.

She is fighting this head on and will continue to.

we will all walk right next to her in the next chapter of her journey

Please send your prayers to Mandy, Jon and their beautiful girls.

Thanks guys

update on our special girl   21 August 2017

Been awhile since I have updated this page so thought I'd give an update.

When pic line was put in amanda had a reaction to it so they had to remove it and place a port in her top arm. The plan was to hit 12 rounds of infusion chemotherapy but hitting 6th round took a toll on her body and her body reacted to the chemotherapy and we lucky wasn't huge but this means they had to stop. Some good news came and s scan showed no new tumours and things were contained while chemotherapy been put on hold, Amanda has struggled with tiredness & the latest blood test showed her cea levels (tumor markings) have risen which means another scan is needed. Each day is different on how she feels but no matter what Amanda always gets upto her children Paige and Georgia takes them to and from school with her wee companion kenzie. while this family is going through this every day unfortunately they received bad news there long life pet has stomach cancer this has been devastating news. Amanda and Jon are soulmates and get up and share there moments together and everything they do is together for the love they share. Amanda is always willing to talk her journey and how she feels, No matter what she is always positive but always say her children come 1st. Stage4b isn't the easiest stages which bloody suxs and we always wonder the day doctors took her $75 fee with a.diagnosis of endometriosis, if she had gone straight to the hospital could the out come be different? Bullshit it was 3months later she left work and walked over to the hospital who took her in she was admitted straight away. mandy has started getting her arm tattoed, absolutely beautiful meaning for her strength & family. please keep

Praying as miricles do happen ❤️❤️❤️❤️

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
