Meet Jess Brown (nee Watt) 24, an inspirationally strong, fighter who has one last chance to fight, and we are not going to let money hold her back getting the potentially life saving treatment on offer.
At age 20 Jess was diagnosed with Chrondoblastic Osteosarcoma on her right mandible (jaw bone) which is an incredibly rare cancer. Jess first underwent surgery on the 22 May 2012, where her jaw bone was removed. She had a second operation in September 2012 where a prosthetic jaw was implanted along with a facial nerve reconstruction to fix the damage from her first surgery.
After surgery and 12 rounds of chemo Jess was given the all clear late 2014. While in remission Jess and James got married in the beautiful Noosa Heads and began their life together with their baby - Duke the pug.
Unfortunately a few months later following a regular CT scan checkup, the doctors found new lumps in each of her lungs in July 2015. Jess had further surgery to remove those lumps in August of 2015. Following this surgery, she had another CT scan in October which unfortunately revealed a further two lumps in her right lung. She had surgery in November 2015 to have these removed. All of these lumps were confirmed to be metastatic Osteosarcoma.
One year after her marriage to the amazing James Brown on the 11th April, Jess received some unfortunate news. She has three new lumps, one of which is growing into her spine causing a lot of nerve pain and another growing into her ribs. These new lumps are impossible to operate on due to their location so there is no conventional treatment available to her as all previous chemotherapy has failed and her particular type of cancer (Chrondoblastic Osteosarcoma) is not sensitive to radiation.
Her doctors have advised her that they have absolutely nothing to offer her and have told her to start ticking her bucket list.
Jess is not giving up. She has been in touch with cancer clinics in Mexico who can offer her treatment which is not available here in Australia or New Zealand. The protocol involves treatments such as hyperthermia, photo dynamic therapy, mistletoe therapy, dendritic cell therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and more and have had great results. They are currently reviewing her records but are confident they can help her. Until this overseas treatment is finalised which can take up to 6-8 weeks, she will be starting whole body and local hyperthermia treatment on the Gold Coast. This treatment alone is $3,000 per week whilst the cost for her to attend one of the clinics in Germany will be between $25,000 to $40,000 and then there are flights and accommodation on top of this.
Without monetary support this potentially life saving treatment will not be possible for Jess. We have set up this page to ask anyone who can spare some, please donate to get Jess the treatment and opportunity for life she deserves.

Jess has been one of my best friends since we bonded at Burnside High School in Accounting class. I want to help her become a Master of Death. We love Jess and want to do everything we can to get her the treatment that is out there which could mean more time for Jess to be in our lives. I also want to help Jess raise awareness about the treatments that she has had and help her document her journey. She is an inspiration, strong amazing women, and we just aren’t ready to give up on our amazing friend.
