Fiji Service Trip 2018

Every year a group of 24 Aquinas Students along with staff and parents, travel to Fiji to the village of Vanuakula to help rebuild their village. This is done through the term two, three holidays in July. This year we are focusing on building water tanks to make use of their rain water, building enclosed shower units as villagers are currently showering in their clothes with no privacy, and repainting the schools as well as other smaller activities. The six days we are working in the village are intense days of labour that provide incredibly humbling outcomes. Our biggest issue with this incredible trip however is money. We take over, or purchase over there, all materials used to improve this village ranging from timber to paint to hammers and everything in between, and this comes at a hefty price, hence the reason for this page. Any money received on this page goes directly towards the materials needed in order to complete this project, none at all goes to personal funds for travel.
