Fiji Village Project is a group of volunteer students who travel to Fiji to enhance the health and wellbeing of local Fiji communities
Nationwide
I am currently in my fourth year of medical school at the University of Otago, and loving every minute of it. This year I have been very fortunate to be one of the volunteer medical students chosen to take part in the Fiji Village Project in January 2015.
Fiji Village Project is an organisation of medical and nursing students from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji that runs a volunteer project to Fiji during each year in January. This year we are travelling to three villages to undergo medical screening and education, as well as restore clean water systems for each village.
It is a fully self-funded project and students are responsible for their own accommodation and flights. However, we do require sponsorship for the water restoration equipment and new medical supplies in order for us to complete the project. This is budgeted at $20,000 this year, with each student expected to fundraise $500 towards the cause.
I would be incredibly grateful for any donation you could put towards this worthy cause. FVP is a registered charity, and donations over $5 NZD are tax-deductible. If you would like a receipt for your donation for tax purposes, please donate directly into the FVP account rather then via this Givealittle page.
