Can you help our family be together during Finn’s chemo treatments for his multi system Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis
Otago
Hi there my name is Courtney and I’m Mum to our gorgeous almost 3 year old Finn who has been receiving treatment for multi system Langerhans cell histiocytosis since the beginning of march. After he stopped responding to his initial lot of chemo we’ve moved onto a new treatment protocol. This consists of Vincristine, Cytarabine and steroids for 4 days every 3 weeks. After Finn’s first day of his 3rd cycle he developed a reaction to his chemo called cytarabine syndrome which required him to stay in hospital for a further 4 days, he was very unwell. From now on we would like to be able to stay close to the hospital for each cycle incase the cytarabine syndrome happens each time as it’s unpredictable, and we live in Oamaru which is 1.5 hours from Dunedin where we need to be. I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant and need some support and help with Finn, and his Dad Logan would love to be there to support us both also. This is a bit of a bump in the road and his treatment length is likely to be long. This would mean A big loss of wages and this hasn’t been an easy year for us or anyone really… we’ve managed well with some help thus far but it’s getting harder. If you could help to support us by making a small donation to relieve a bit of financial stress and allow us to be together during Finn’s treatment that would be incredible and would mean a lot to us, every little bit would help.
Thank you in advance and love from us all ❤️

Hi there,
I just want to thank everyone again, your generosity helped us incredibly while Finn had his roughest 6 months yet. But it was all worth it, he has no active disease now 😊 Finn now no longer receives chemo through his portacath(he’s since had it removed, an awesome milestone!) he will now have oral chemo everyday for the next 2 years and he only requires hospital visits to Dunedin 1-2 times a month. He is now enjoying being home more often and is the happiest wee boy who is loving being a big brother to Oliver who is now 4 months old!
Wow, thank you all for your support! 😊
