I'm a transgender male (assigned female at birth) and I'm starting my transition. Before I do anything legal I wanted to move on with my chosen name but I can't do that until I have it changed . I avoid anything where I have to write my legal name because I feel like it doesn't represent me and reminds me of being seen as not who I am. This isn't helpful because I have just turned 18 and I'm responsible for many (new) legal things in my life (e.g. passport, license, university and accommodation applications).
There is no time limit to getting the funds but because I will be moving out of my house next year and applying for jobs and courses, I'm aiming to have my name change underway in a month or two.

Funds will be paid to my mother's bank account as currently, I do not hold a NZ drivers license.
Use of funds
The funds will be used for the application fee to register a name change and a name change certificate so I can go on to change my gender marker and birth certificate.
