The Fiordland Marine Search and Rescue team volunteer their time to provide a critical marine rescue service to the Fiordland and further afield. The team still incur significant costs for training, equipment, travel and flight time. Over the past few years with a significant increase in the number of jobs the FMSAR have increased demands on training and gear that requires extra funds.
Replacing specialised equipment, training and flight time for marine search and rescue services.
Mahe's Fundraising Ride! 18 January 2026
Mahe has officially completed his ride from Cape Reinga to Bluff!
He rolled into Bluff on Thursday 15th January just after 9pm, joined by mates and family — an emotional and unforgettable finish.
Over 25 days, Mahe rode the length of the country, an incredible journey and achievement for a 14-year-old. We couldn’t be prouder.
A massive thank you to everyone who donated to support Fiordland Marine Search & Rescue. We are truly blown away by the generosity. This is a vital service for our community and one that isn’t government funded, so every contribution really does make a difference.
Mahe’s original goal was $7,000 — and he’s well and truly smashed it! Thank you all so much for your support 🙏
