$921 donated
Given by 20 generous donors in around 5 months

Slum community in Phnom Penh, Cambodia suffered a massive fire on Tuesday June 28th, wiping out houses/shacks of around 40 families.

International

Baby Resuce and Treatment, a New Zealand founded project has been working in slum communities in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for a around three years. Providing life saving nutrition and medication to Mothers and babies living in extreme poverty. Due to poor diets and disease, many mothers are simply not able to produce breast milk. Our team have been providing nutrition, medication, vaccinations and education to these at risk families and progress has been steady with hundreds of babies saved to date. Tuesday's fire has devastated the huts and living spaces of around 40 families which now means that these families are now living out in the open air and it is currently the rainy season in Cambodia. The main industry at this slum is rubbish picking for recycling - now even their trailers for collecting and sorting have perished along with sewing machines - all of their few possessions. Please help us to continue to feed these babies and provide the much needed help for these families that are working so hard to make a better life.
