Poplar Avenue in Raumati needs a safe pedestrian and bike crossing, to keep everyone safe.
Wellington, Kapiti Coast District
A cycleway that is not safe for an eight-year-old is not safe for anybody,
Poplar Avenue in Raumati South needs a proper pedestrian and bike crossing. Cyclists and walkers using Queen Elizabeth Park’s Te Ara o Whareroa shared path joining Paekākāriki and Raumati cannot easily cross Poplar Avenue. Kāpiti Coast District Council needs to respond to our community concerns. More than 700 people signed our petition. But KCDC has failed to respond effectively.
We are now fund raising to expand our campaign for safer, and climate friendly, cycling and walking.

"We want the Council to get on with the job," says Paul 8 February 2022
Paul tells us why he wants KCDC to fix our crossing.
"People want to go north to Raumati and the Expressway path but there's a problem. There's no crossing."
"We want them to get on with the job."
