Fundraiser for Fletcher to receive SDR surgery!
Auckland
Fletcher was born premature and experienced a difficult birth, causing white matter damage around the brain. Fletcher was diagnosed with Bilateral Spastic Cerebral Palsy Llll at 10months of age, with his legs being mostly affected. For Fletcher, this means he is unable to stand or walk unaided.
Fletcher is 6 years old now and is the absolute light of our family. Despite his difficult journey, Fletcher is always smiling and has an energy that radiates out and touches everyone he meets. He is a motivated and driven little boy, who has exceeded all expectations. Every week, Fletcher spends long hours travelling and participating in therapy, working tirelessly to improve his muscle strength and control.
Fletcher is booked in for a life changing surgery called Selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR). This surgery has the potential to enable Fletcher to walk independently in the future. This means Fletcher will be rocketing over to America this coming March, for surgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri. This surgery and related costs totals over $120,000.
We have been planning for this since Fletcher was 3 years of age and have been able to fundraise a large portion of the costs. With one month to go, we are doing one last fundraising drive to cover the remaining costs. All funds will be used towards the SDR costs and anything left over will be used towards intensive therapy post-surgery.

All funds will be used to help cover the costs of this surgery and all the related expenses that go with it. Any funds left over will be used towards intensive therapy after.
