We're raising funds to support Flick through her treatment to help her to stay well and strong during this time."
Nationwide
Hi, my name is Jo, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. My beautiful wife Flick and I have shared nearly 10 wonderful years of marriage, building a busy, joy-filled life together in South Waikato.
In early 2025, our lives were turned upside down. Flick lost her job in February, and then in May, she received a heartbreaking diagnosis: stage 4 bowel cancer with advanced liver involvement. The prognosis is devastating: doctors estimate she may have just 6 to 12 months.
The news has been devastating for us. Treatment has begun, and while the start was tough Flick has started an aggressive chemotherapy regime—dubbed “weed killer” by our oncologist—and while the treatment is underway, it’s already taken a toll. One of the immediate side effects has been severe neuropathy in her hands and feet, making warmth and comfort at home more important than ever.
We’re asking for help to ease the financial strain during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go directly toward keeping the heating on, covering petrol for hospital visits, and supporting Flick’s comfort as she undergoes treatment.
Any support, big or small, would mean the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
– Jo
Flick and I have been happily married and getting up to mischief since 2012
All donations will go directly towards keeping the heating on for Flick, covering petrol costs for travel to and from medical appointments, and funding supplementary treatments to support her through chemotherapy.
