Supporting Flower Growers affected by Cyclone Gabrielle.
Hawke's Bay
We are all reeling with the impact that Cyclone Gabrielle has had across our country. We wish to show our support and solidarity with fellow flower growers. Some have lost crops, some are unable to continue with other crucial parts of their business e.g. education, and many have simply prioritised helping out others with more immediate needs over their own livelihoods.
Over the years we have forged many special connections between flower growers, and those that buy flowers, and now is a time for us to support our flower growers who have been affected. Although flowers can be considered a luxury item, especially in times of crisis, their potential to contribute to positive well-being is not to be under-estimated.
All funds raised here will be gifted to those flower growers in severely effected areas, for them to determine how they should best be used, whether for purchasing new seeds & plants, physical repairs, or to support their mental well-being.
Christy Ralphs is the owner of Nourish Gardens, and has a strong commitment to supporting and connecting Flower Growers across Aotearoa.
Money will be donated to the Hawkes Bay Floral Collective spent on any physical & mental needs for flower growers.
Thank you! 20 April 2023
