  • RIP our beloved Brom

      26 August 2021

It is with a very heavy heart to tell you all that our special courageous wee boy has left this world and is with the angels. He was doing so well, and everyone was so pleased with his progress, all the more so bittersweet and harder to bear as overnight things changed drastically and he inflicted a wound so great that the vets were left puzzled to know where to begin to try and fix this one and on top of this, the wound was infected. For the first time during his care Brom was showing signs of distress, pain and depression, he had had enough and was suffering. His vet and specialist had called time but ultimately the decision laid on my shoulders. Dear Brom, how hard it was for me to make the decision to say goodbye, But I had to. We all had so much hope and had came to believe that it was going to be okay for you, that life was going to be better - but the universe had other plans for you my love and the best gift I could now give was to release you from your pain and suffering. But know you are loved and deeply missed and will not be forgotten. Rest In Pease sweet Brom ❤

Thank you all that donated towards his care.

  • Broms new safe house

Thank you all whom have donated, as we where able to buy Brom his new safe house. This crate is safe for Brom as it is made of PVC and strong so he can’t chew through it. It is safe from any sharp edges and doesn’t collapse from the other kittens when they jump on it. It’s a great size and has easy access to administer his meds. It was pricy at $289.00 but it’s what he needed and it works. So Brom sends his love to all who have helped him 💜♥️💚💙💋

  • Brom update

Brom is now approx 7-months-old and he is still battling a skin disorder. He had his specialist appointment at the Animal Dermatology Clinic in Albany and they are working closely with me and his vet to try and sort out what is causing his problem. His biopsy did not show any signs of any nasty bacteria, which is great news, but he has been diagnosed with excessive skin and deficient levels of collagen. His neck area and the head are in a bit of a state and have had to be stitched up due to lesions appearing from excessive itching. Poor Brom is self inflicting his injuries and they are horrific. Hopefully, we are now on a positive treatment plan to help this wee man have a better more full filled life. He still has a long road ahead as his condition is not curable but is manageable.

Today we had a set back and wee Brom is back in the hospital as he has opened up his back and sides. Another treatment has been introduced to try and get the itching under control. This little man is just such a honey and takes everything in his stride, such a trooper.

This pic does not show the extent of his injuries as they are too graphic to show. Brom does not feel the pain due to his condition plus he is on pain relief. Please we would appreciate any donation towards his care.

  • Brom needs help with medical support

      8 June 2021

This is wee Brom a 6 month old male and he needs some help with vet costs. In the last 2 months our vet cost for our animals have exceed $10k and now with Broms costs we are struggling therefore any amount you could contribute will be a big heartfelt welcome 💕

He is a very sad boy right now and hates having his collar on. A month ago he developed a sore on his shoulder, what the vet thought was a cat bite (abscess) and was treated accordingly. It healed but another appeared and so another vet visit, more antibiotics. It healed but more and more appeared, he was a nasty mess! Poor Brom had to have a short stay in hospital to have a biopsy and to have his sores stitched up 😢. He is now at home recovering while we wait for his biopsy results.

If you would like to help us with his vet costs please donate to our give a little page or you can donate direct to our vet account.

  • Feline calicivirus

What a terrible two months we have had battling a nasty strain of cat flu. Our poor kittens have had a rough time of it with eye ulcers, weakness, pain in their limbs causing limping, respiratory infection, congestion, sneezing fits and conjunctivitis. We are finally getting on top of it but it has been incredibly stressful with many sleepless nights. Loads of meds, supplements (flu max) and vet visits and the bill is mounting yet again. But we have to do what we can to support these little ones to get them through. Lots of good food to support their immune system and get them stronger. When these kittens arrived the were immune compromised, weak and emaciated so the flu had no problem taking hold and sadly we did loose one kitten to the virus. Her little body was just to weak to battle but she tried. RIP Kansas 💕

  • Noelle's journey

      8 February 2021

Sadly we were unable to save Noelle's eye and on Friday 5th she had it removed. It was truly a devastating outcome as the eye ulcer itself healed and it was a mighty deep ulcer. Her eye was showing great results from the antiviral tabs, eye drops and antibiotics but Wednesday her eye started to enlarge and things turned bad very quickly. In her best interest it was decided by the vets that it was time to remove the eye.

Noelle is such a trooper and nothing slows her down. On Saturday she was playing with the rest of them and having a blast. I can't wait for her to find her forever home as she is such a joy and a beautiful wee soul.

  • New arrival

This is little Noelle, aprox 6 weeks old. She arrived on Wednesday evening 23rd Dec with two others from the same property. All have cat flu but poor Noelle has it the worst with an ulcerated eye. We are doing all we can to try and save her eye but it is a real possibility that her eye will have to be removed. We are staying positive for her.

Your donations enable us to buy essential products, like our kitten milk. This life saving milk formula cost us $60 per 1kg tub and is crucial in feeding our neonates.

  • Mamma has a name....Meet Violet

Donations enable us to provide the necessary care and treatments for ones like Violet. Say hello to little Violet. She was surrendered two weeks ago, very unwell and very pregnant. This wee girl had to undergo emergency surgery but is recovering nicely. This morning she allowed me to give her a good head scratch and we had a little cuddle. Unfortunately Violet could not nurse her babies due to being so sick but all are doing great.

  • Cat leg amputation

      4 November 2020
    Main image

Little Fawn is recovering today after having surgery yesterday to amputate her leg. Fawn was surrendered after being found on the side of the road having been hit by a car. Initially it was believed after x-rays that there were no broken bones, but a torn ligament which after much rest and healing time would come right. However, months later as the leg still remained very stiff it was re-x-rayed to find the tip of her knee joint was gone. Sad news is that the only way forward for quality of life was to remove her back leg.

Cats are very resilient and bounce back remarkably well without looking back.

This wee girl has found her forever home 💕

  • Mother cat in crisis

      4 November 2020

OH NO, here we are again.

Mother cat was caught and surrendered on Sunday afternoon and 4 precious little ones where born 11.30pm that night, sadly one was still born. Mumma was not showing any interest in her babies, and things just did not seem right, so Monday morning she went to the vets and was rushed into emergency surgery. Mumma had a very nasty abscess which had made giving birth extremely painful and she still retained another kitten inside, with a heart beat. The vets tried very hard to save the kitten but unfortunately it was not meant to be and sadly the kitten has passed away.

Mumma cat has come through her surgery and doing very well but unfortunately she can not care for her kittens and they will have to be hand raised.

Wow it has been a full on week, leaving us with some serious medical bills to pay, just shy of $10k

Please if anyone could spare a dollar to help towards some of the medical costs would be so very appreciated.

With out your help we will struggle to be able to continue doing what we do, and that is to help animals in need.
