Help us raise the funds to replace our leaking roof and provide a long overdue upgrade for our premises.
Auckland
The food bank at St Luke's Anglican Church is one of the last remaining in Manurewa and in partnership with the Auckland City Mission offers a vital service to the community. Up to 60 food parcels every month are provided to those in need, along with a good helping of fellowship and a hot cup of tea.
We continue to operate thanks to a small but dedicated group of volunteers who offer their time, enthusiasm and energy. However our team is working in very old premises which are in urgent need of repair. Buckets are a regular feature to catch rain from the leaking roof and some rooms are unusable until maintenance is undertaken.
We are on a mission to raise funds to replace the roof, do required work to create a separate waiting room and to upgrade storerooms. This will create a watertight and user-friendly workspace for our volunteers and comfortable surroundings for those who use the service.
Thanks to generous donations and regular supplies from the Auckland City Mission we have a good stock of food (although we never say no to more!), but we have no funding for building work and require donations to fund this vital project.
Please help keep us continue this service and support our fund raising effort.
