Help Bruce in his battle with inoperable cancer. Doctors think immunotherapy will work, but it must be privately funded. Every dollar helps.

Time for a fight !

Bruce has inoperable cancer.

Radiation will help. Unfortunately chemo probably won’t. Doctors believe the real hope is IMMUNOTHERAPY.

With chemo, the drug attacks the cancer. With immuno, the drug stimulates the body to attack the cancer. It seems Bruce's particular cancer is susceptible to immuno. Anecdotally, many recipients seem to have several extra years. With time, is hope.

Unfortunately for Bruce immuno (Keytruda) is not publicly funded. Consequently he must receive his treatment through the private sector. We have already raised the $40k to undergo his trial / assessment period. If successful, there is an additional $60k in funding to complete his treatment.

Bruce is up for the fight.

We’re standing beside him in his battle.

There is a community of support out there, and for that Bruce is most grateful. We’ve met many AWESOME people already. Sooo humbling. There are angels who walk amongst us.

For those able to help, thank you. It’s not expected. It is without judgment. But we’re thankful. And appreciative. And humbled.

$50 or $100 helps with meals & expenses.

$500 or so helps Clinic fees & professional costs.

$1000 or so seriously helps buy the necessary drugs.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

The hope is real.

The fight is real.

He’s a pretty good human our brother, and we want to fight for him.

Bruce, the battle may be yours. But we stand with you.

And you’ll never walk alone.

Bruce is my brother. Our brother. A son. Friend. Colleague. Teacher. Someone who matters. He’s a good human. A bit cheeky. A bit naughty. And not all that tall. But he’s ours.

Use of funds

Bruce’s treatment is NOT publicly funded.

We are raising funds to pay for all medical expenses ; the drugs (Keytruda), professional fees, Clinic costs, everything connected to Bruce’s treatment.

Funds are to paid to Pauline (partner of Bruce's Brother Richard)

I read a little about what Keytruda is. Glad to hear it makes the situation better for Bruce: From ChatGPT: Keytruda, known generically as pembrolizumab, is a medication used in cancer treatment. It is a type of immunotherapy and works by enhancing the body's immune system to help fight cancer cells. Keytruda is particularly known for its effectiveness in treating various types of cancer, including melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, head and neck cancer, Hodgkin lymphoma, and certain types of bladder and kidney cancer, among others. The drug functions by blocking a protective mechanism on cancer cells, known as the PD-1 pathway, which prevents the immune system from attacking them. By inhibiting this pathway, Keytruda allows the immune system to better recognize and destroy cancer cells. Keytruda is administered through intravenous infusion and has become notable for its potential to significantly improve survival rates in some cancer patients, particularly those with advanced or hard-to-treat cancers. However, like all cancer treatments, it can have side effects, which can range from mild to severe, including immune-related adverse effects due to the activation of the immune system. It's important for patients considering Keytruda to discuss the benefits and risks of treatment with their healthcare provider, who can provide personalized medical advice and information.
