Help me raise awareness of cancer sufferers and their fight to wellness.
Wellington
My older sister was diagnosed with cancer last year, which lead her to undergo surgery and received a low dose chemotherapy. It was found out 3 months after her treatment ended in April that her cancer aggressively spread to many areas and her health took a turn for the worst. She was told she needed major surgery to remove the affected areas and to get palliative care arranged, that there was nothing else they could do for her. They gave up on her. She is a fighter and refused to believe that this is how it would end, so she got a second opinion. The doctors told her that if she received the correct dose initially, she would have been in remission and that they could now start her on an aggressive form of chemotherapy treatment to shrink the cancer cells as much as possible, trying to avoid major surgery and removal of affected areas. She began the treatment in September but it has left her weak, in pain and unable to work. She is our epitome of strength and to show her support and raise awareness of how cancer affects the livelihood of the individual and their family, I would like to raise funds to support her financially. In return I will show my support for my sister by joining her in cutting my hair to be donated to make a wig for her.
Charlene is my older sister and my hero who currently is living in South Africa
The money would be spent to financially support her during the time she is not able to work, any shortfalls on medication cover and to possibly purchase a wig.
