For a Son. Brother. Grandson. Friend. To aid in alleviating financial concerns for his Parents, whilst Reece is in Starship.

A sudden headache for 11 year old Reece, turned into an Emergency Flight from Whangarei to Starship at 11.30pm Wednesday, December 11th. Not only a parents worst nightmare, but right on Christmas, when families should be gearing up for celebrations, joy & laughter. Reece, his Mum, Dad, (Diana & Ant), & 3 siblings are instead, trying to navigate this unexpected event, travelling between Starship & The Ronald McDonald House in Auckland. What began as a headache, morphed quickly into a Brain Bleed requiring at this stage, 3 weeks in Starship.
Reece is wonderful, a kind friend, avid basketballer & all round "nice guy" & for his parents to be able to focus on him without worrying about financial burdens, is our goal. Diana & Ant, have a next level Cafe in Mangawhai, called "Four Little Birds"...you may of heard of them?! Not only do they pour their heart & soul into their incredible food, coffees & the ethos of their business, they do the same in our Community. Always ready to put their hands up; help out, support other local business's, our local school, sports clubs & go that extra mile on special days like Valentines, Easter, Halloween & Christmas.
It is now, that they need us. Our turn to support them. It is the giving Season & though a lot of people out there are struggling themselves, every little bit helps. I know, that our very own Family of Birds, would be the first to help out someone else.

I am a friend of Diana's. Her son Reece, & mine, have been mates for several years. They are at the same school & this year, the same class.
Use of funds
Being sole owner/operators of 'Four Little Birds", they cannot open whilst needed at Starship. The rent, bills & overheads still need to be paid. Their Mortgage. Animals to look after. Any & all funds will go directly to the family, to help with this.

This will all go into the travel back and forth from Mangawhai to Auckland every day that hubby has to do to look after our pets, our mortgage, general bills like power and food, Trying to create a xmas for these kiddies, help towards the huge cost of my shop rent, outgoings as obviously we will be closed for at least a couple of weeks till our boy is stable . As a family business all of our eggs are in one basket so unfortunately that means even though there is no income for this period lease doesn't stop.
Thank you so much for this huge financial help.
I will make sure to give back, find a way to thank each and every one of you and do the same for anyone that needs.
Im a huge believer of what you receive you give back and our kids are raised the same so somehow somewhere I will make sure of it.
This was extremely hard to do and when our dear friend Kat asked I said no at first - We arent ones who are comfortable to ask for help at all as anyone that knows us knows- it feels much better to be able to give it but for the first time in our lives we had to swallow our pride and say yes to this incredible kind gift.
