A heartfelt effort to help my little sister Ruby get to Los Angeles to represent New Zealand
Wellington
If you know Ruby, you know she doesn’t do things half heartedly
She’s the kind of person who puts everything into what she loves, whether it's training, showing up for her team, or pushing herself when things get hard.
She’s also my little sister, and my best friend.
This year, Ruby has been selected to represent New Zealand in the Under 15s Flag Football Championship in Los Angeles. It’s an incredible opportunity, and one she worked so hard for.
But behind this moment is a year that looked very different for our family.
Last year, I was diagnosed with cancer. Everything shifted overnight. Our whole world narrowed down overnight.
And through it all, Ruby was there.
She didn’t get a “normal” year either. Yet she showed up for me in ways that are hard to explain unless you’ve lived it. She carried more than most people her age should have, and did it without asking for anything back.
Now she has an opportunity, something that is hers, one she deserves, but it comes with a cost.
The trip is self-funded and sits at around $6,000. Any support you can provide will be amazing
She showed up for me when I needed her the most. And now I want to do everything I can to show up for her.
I want her to experience something bigger than everything we’ve been through this past year. To have a moment that is about her and everything she’s earned.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us. And if you can’t, even sharing this page helps.
Thank you for reading Ruby's Story

The funds will go directly toward Ruby’s self-funded trip costs, including flights to Los Angeles, accommodation, tournament registration fees, team uniform and gear, travel insurance, and everyday expenses like meals and local transport.
