To complete the "Community Park Centres" alterations short fall.
Canterbury
Work started in May 2015 to gut the old Timaru Bowling club building, and remodel it as a Community Centre for those over 60. The community centre will support the growing population of those effected by Alzheimers/ dementia and those coping with aging alone.
The facility operates as a day care, catering for carers and those in their care to meet others, share experience and reduce social isolation of which has been proved to assist healthy living and positive ageing.
At this point in time $430,000 has been raised to complete the interior of the facility. Now we need to complete the exterior and grounds. we believe our vision for the outside will set this project apart. A workshop/potting shed reading room BBQ/outside eating area and raised garden beds. The raised gardens will enable those using the facility, to continue growing flowers & vegetables as they would have loved doing their own homes.
The cost of completing this work is $70,000 which is just out of our reach. Can you help us across the finish line.
