One of the last things Kevin said was to look after Shailesh once he was gone. So lets help.
Wellington
Many of us knew Kevin Armstrong. He was part of our film family. He was the guy on set or in the Production office that you could go to and be heard. He was happy, fun, cheeky and good at his job. You were always glad to see his name on the crew list.
As a person and as a friend he was the one you could always call on if you needed help, no matter when, no matter what for. The friend that you could not see for ages and then pick up from where you left off.
When he met Shailesh you could see how happy he was, how happy they made each other. They married in 2014.
Near the end of 2014 they were told that Kevin had cancer. After months of treatment and surgeries Kevin was given the all clear, going into remission mid 2015. Together they could finally start planning for their future. The first thing on the list was building their dream house.
Skip ahead a year later to July this year and they were finally moving in with all the excitement that came with it. However, a few days later they were given the terrible news that Kevin's cancer was back and this time it was so far advanced that there was no beating it.
On 28th July 2016 Kevin passed away surrounded by love at the Mary Potter Hospice in Newtown.
In his final days, true to form, Kevin was more worried about making sure Shailesh was looked after rather than anything that was happening to him.
So I propose we help.
This Givealittle page will go to Shailesh to make sure he can stay in the house that he and Kevin built together, maybe not forever, but for a while at least.
I'm intending this page to be a surprise for Shailesh. Firstly to keep to the tradition of Kevin and Shailesh loving to surprise each other, and secondly because I know Shailesh wouldn't want a fuss to be made. But damn it, lets make a fuss!!
Please give what you can. Every dollar adds up and will go a long way to ease the financial stress of suddenly having to pay a mortgage on your own.
Thanks in advance!
Because Kevin was a wonderful friend. When he met Shailesh he was complete. I want to do what Kevin asked and help look after Shailesh now that he can't.
